Despite graduating from the University of Illionois at Urbana-Champaign with a degree in botany, Eileene pursued a career in web design and development. She has been creating web sites since late 1993, when the only browser was NCSA Mosaic. Her first professional web site was created in 1995.

She currently works in New Yrok City for Xpedior, Inc., a major leading-edge web solutions company, as a web engineer. She lives in Montclair, New Jersey with her long-time partner, two frogs, and a plethora of books.
